Central Virginia Emergency Management Alliance
The Central Virginia Emergency Management Alliance (CVEMA) was created from the former Urban Area Working Group (UAWG). The CVEMA establishes a forum for local emergency managers, public safety officials, and private non-profit partners to collaborate and enhance emergency management in Central Virginia. The goal is to improve situational awareness in Central Virginia and to provide a place to share ideas and lessons learned while creating partnerships to leverage grant funding for regional projects.
Local partners of the CVEMA include the counties of Amelia, Brunswick, Caroline, Charles City, Chesterfield, Cumberland, Dinwiddie, Essex, Goochland, Greensville, Hanover, Henrico, King and Queen, King William, Louisa, New Kent, Nottoway, Powhatan, Prince George, and Sussex and the Cities of Colonial Heights, Emporia, Hopewell, Richmond, and Petersburg.
